Meet Karishma Kashyap
She is a key member of the growing carbon team and a Carbon Projects Specialist based at Midway’s head office in Geelong. She started working with the company in January 2024.
Karishma is originally from India and moved to Australia in 2014 following in her brother’s footsteps. She studied for both a Bachelor and Masters degree in Sustainability and Environmental Science and has worked in the carbon industry for several years including a United Nations waste management project.
Karishma has a very exciting role assessing projects and opportunities under the carbon farming scheme undertaking feasibility studies, due diligence, reporting and applying the carbon forestry methodology to deliver end-to-end nature-based solutions.
She said: “I genuinely love what I do. It has been a great start at Midway with a broad remit and an amazing team who are supportive and motivating. What we are doing is pioneering in our industry, and it is satisfying to be a part of the carbon journey.”
Meet Clint Webb
He is the Manager of Midway Tasmania and the first employee in Tasmania to be employed by Midway Limited when Midway Tasmania was first started.
He has been in forestry all his life. He started his journey with Midway in 2018, having previously worked for the Forestry Tasmania for 12 years, then moved on to work with North Forest Products for six years, Environmental Consultants International for five years and ten years running his own business in Harvesting & Forestry Consulting until 2018 and the rest is history.
He said: “I joined Midway because it was a great opportunity to be part of something new and it was a good fit for me at this time of my career. There are a lot of moving parts to this business but a lot of energy in this team to tackle the hard and fast pace of this operation. We know that what we are doing is futureproofing the timber industry with the thinning operations plus taking care of the timber crop for the next generation.”
